Why I picked this archetype.
My name is Alyssa Pleasant Rooks. I am currently a junior at Spelman College
majoring in English with a PR/Marketing focus. This is my literary archetypal
project for Dr. Warner’s Myth and Epic Literature course for the Spring semester of 2013.
After learning about the variety of different archetypes I chose to explore
the hero/warrior archetype because the hero in each epic must overcome
battles with both the world around them and within themselves, just as everyone
must in everyday life. Most believe that to be a hero, one must be the strongest and defeat
those around them, however I personally believe what makes one a hero is how they
overcome and deal with trails they come in contact with.
